北京舞蹈学院社会舞蹈系于1989年9月正式建系并面向全国招生，开始全日制学历教育。早期的“社会舞蹈系”叫“社会音乐舞蹈教育系”，设有三个学科：群众舞蹈、幼师舞蹈、少儿舞蹈（舞蹈考级中心）。1994年升格本科教育层次，首届设立的是舞蹈师范本科教育，1995年增设音乐剧学科的本科教育，1997年又增设国际标准舞学科的本科教育。1998年底学院教学机构调整，将中国舞考级中心、舞蹈师范教研室调离社教系独立...
