内蒙古自治区监狱管理局是全区监狱工作的领导机关，对区直监狱系统的19个单位实行垂直管理，对3个盟市监狱的业务工作进行指导。监狱管理局内设12个处室和1个机关事务服务中心。现有在职干警职工127人，其中占行政编制的干警110人，现有局领导7人，副处级以上环节领导21人，处级非领导10人，科级以下干部72人；占事业编制（机关事务服务中心）干警职工17人，其中有正、副主任各1人；少数民族干警19人。
