北京时间2011年7月25日消息,据国外媒体报道,荷兰古生态学家最新研究成果表明,海底释放的甲烷将可能会导致地球上再次出现生物大灭绝。研究人员认为,根据2亿年前生物大灭绝事件的特点,生物大灭绝似乎比预想中更容易触发。
被誉为“化学生态学之父”的美国著名生物学家托马斯·艾斯纳(Thomas Eisner)因帕金森病并发症于2011年3月25日不幸逝世,享年81岁。1994年,因为“在昆虫行为和化学生态学领域的巨大贡献以及在生物多样性方面所作出的国际成就”,艾斯纳荣获美国科学最高荣誉——国家科学奖章。
