杨桃又名阳桃、洋桃、五敛子、三廉子，属酢浆草科五敛子属，是典型的热带水果之一。中国己有2000多年的栽培历史，以广东、广西、福建、云南等地栽培较多。杨桃果实形状特殊，颜色呈翠绿或鹅黄色，全果可食，皮薄如膜，肉脆汁多，甜酸可口。果肉中含有大量的葡萄糖、维生素、果酸、蛋白质、脂肪、钙、磷和各种氨基酸等，具有生津止渴、清热解暑和调味等作用。
