CHANGES IN VELOCITY OF FISHER GLACIER, EAST ANTARCTICA USING PIXEL TRACKING METHOD
Glacier velocity image matching Antarctica COSI-corr

Glacier movement is a crucial factor for assessing cryospheric climate change. Traditional methods of field surveys for studying glacier movement and velocity are often not possible owing to inaccessi...

NEW MULTICATEGORY BOOSTING ALGORITHMS BASED ON MULTICATEGORY FISHER-CONSISTENT LOSSES
MULTICATEGORY BOOSTING ALGORITHMS MULTICATEGORY FISHER-CONSISTENT LOSSES

Fisher-consistent loss functions play a fundamental role in the construction of successful binary margin-based classifiers. In this paper we establish the Fisher-consistency condition for multicategor...
Traveling waves for the Keller-Segel system with Fisher birth terms
Chemotaxis Traveling waves Keller-Segel system Reaction diffusion systems Nonlinear stability
2015/7/14
We consider the traveling wave problem for the one dimensional Keller-Segel system with a birth term of either a Fisher/KPP type or with a truncation for small population densities. We prove that ther...
The non-local Fisher-KPP equation:traveling waves and steady states
non-local Fisher-KPP equation traveling waves steady states
2015/7/14
We consider the Fisher-KPP equation with a nonlocal saturation effect defined through an interaction kernel φ(x) and investigate the possible differences with the standard Fisher-KPP equation. Our fir...
Existence and Non-existence of Fisher-KPP Transition Fronts
Existence Non-existence Fisher-KPP
2015/7/14
We consider Fisher-KPP-type reaction-diffusion equations with spatially inhomogeneous reaction rates. We show that a sufficiently strong localized inhomogeneity may prevent existence of transition-fro...
A short proof of the logarithmic Bramson correction in Fisher-KPP equations
logarithmic Bramson correction Fisher-KPP equations
2015/7/14
In this paper, we explain in simple PDE terms a famous result of Bramson about the logarithmic delay of the position of the solutions u(t, x) of Fisher-KPP reaction-diffusion equations in R, with resp...
Power-like delay in time inhomogeneous Fisher-KPP equations
Power-like delay time inhomogeneous Fisher-KPP equations
2015/7/14
We consider solutions of the KPP equation with a time-dependent diffusivity of the formσ(t/T). For an initial condition that is compactly supported, we show that when σ(s) is increasing in time the fr...
On the nonlocal Fisher-KPP equation:steady states, spreading speed and global bounds
nonlocal Fisher-KPP equation steady states spreading speed global bounds
2015/7/14
We consider the Fisher-KPP equation with a non-local interaction term. We establish a condition on the interaction that allows for existence of non-constant periodic solutions, and prove uniform upper ...
